Trump has received summons from the court in the historic Maryland and DC emoluments lawsuit against the president. We're proud to be working with @AGKarlRacine and @BrianFrosh on the case.

(1,115 posts)I am a member of the Democratic Underground.
I am not a hero but I was there. I was drafted and did not
want to be there. I was a 11b10 (infantry). I have lots of stories
to tell. I guarded the fence. No shit. I guarded at Spandau.
I paid for Social Security while in the service. If. we ever build a wall
separating Mexico I will denounce my citizenship! I was there in
the infantry for our country and now I feel betrayed.
I was there in 1968 for you!!! Not for me.

(14,489 posts)And thank you for your dedicated service. I assume you're talking about this place: "The Spandau Prison, built in 1876, was used to house Nazi war criminals who were sentenced to imprisonment at the Nuremberg Trials."
The vast majority of Americans do not want walls separating us from our neighbors. This is nothing more than an element of the racist fear the GOP has been pushing in the media for decades. I think some of them would like to go back to the days like in the South where there were separated sections of town where all the blacks lived.
Good to have you here on DU!.........

(4,940 posts)No real bone problems at last scan, 8 months ago but we're scheduling another for next month to stay on the goddess' good side! Really just a freak accident. Had to remove 22 pounds of fresh snow from self, however... We live pretty rural but close enough to Fairbanks, the EMT's & bus took 6 whole minutes.
NEXT TIME, loving spouse, YOU get to shovel the stairs!

The headline "Trump's been served" is somewhat strange. The court just made a decision in this suit today.
Judge allows part of emoluments lawsuit against Trump to move forward
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/judge-allows-emoluments-clause-lawsuit-against-trump-to-move-forward/
The judge threw out most of the case. That aside Trump was served in this case almost a year ago not recently so that is what makes the headline strange like it just happened. Lawsuits don't work that way. A person is not served and suddenly the court make a decision in the case.
