I can't imagine his peers will be very happy to see this photo spread across the world. He's supposed to recruit them, not practice others' ways.

judaism. they even have some temple rituals based on the jewish rituals at the wailing wall.

this is no more inappropriate than it is for a christian to attend a passover sedar to better understand the last supper.
as a jew, many if not most sedars i've attended included a christian for exactly this reason.

besides, proslytizing is illegal in israel.

but they don't THINK they're disrespecting jews.

so rmoney praying at the wailing wall wouldn't been seen by the mormons as anything disrespectful (either to jews or to mormons) or inappropriate.

It would bother me if he didn't do it. This is just a show of respect for the history of the region that our potential presidents, as well as other dignitaries do when they go to Israel.

In 2000 Pope John Paul II became the first pope to pray at the wall.

Religion has probably had more influence on world history than anything else. Laughing at it only shows a lack of knowledge about it's nefarious effects, and adds to the hate that has caused so much killing in its name.

and it's about history, not mythology.

it's comparable in a way to people of many other religions praying in a church instead of praying in a home, except that judaism has only one place in the world like that -- the wailing wall.

And if men don't have head covering (yarmulke, hat, baseball cap), a kippa will be provided. They keep a box of them at the wall and prohibit entry to the area without one.
