If your millionaire and billionaire friends don't get a tax cut on all their income, then, out of fairness, you are ready to give up your tax cut also? Why should 98% of the people get a tax cut and the top 2% not get the same tax cut?
Well, my friend, they do get the same tax cut as you. If you make $250K per year, you get a tax cut on $250K dollars. If you make a million dollars per year, you get the same $250K tax break. Everybody gets the same tax break up to $250K dollars. One hundred percent get the tax cut.
But that is not enough for the top 2%. They want you and the other 98% to give up your tax cut if they can't get more. Out of the sense of fairness and the love for the Grand Old Party, you have no problem giving up your tax cut for your millionaire friends, do you?
You didn't really need it anyway, did you?

(22,308 posts)I'll give up my cut if it helps get people back to work and strengthens the U.S. Dollar.
We also need Pres. Obama's second term to start to "bend the curve" when it comes to the deficit. We have a chance to prove that conservative economic policies (among others) don't work and I hope we take it.

(111,110 posts)John Boehner and the Repubs are blocking the continued tax break for 98% because they can't get more for the wealthiest 2%.
So, if they go thru with that plan, we should work with them on a plan to reduce the deficit and get the dollar stronger and get this economy back on track. We passed a tax cut for everyone but if they decide the people don't need it, then we have no choice but to go along.
We tried but they blocked it. Let's go forward from there. Them's the beans...
