We worship sports too much as a society

From High School to Penn State to the Olympics we as a society give way too much to sports. High schools stiff academic funding to funds sports (specially football and basketball) we spend millions on stadiums when cities are decaying, we spend a billion plus to bring the Olympics to SLC and we black out news results of game events...it says something about our society that we value sports this much..we're fucked up!!!

I also understand why some follow them to the exclusion of all else. Opium is no longer legal and not all people have the funds or wherewithal to appropriate such.
