I remember him first and best from Coronation Street where he played Eddie Yeats. Most people will recognize him as Onslow, from Keeping Up Appearances. One thing I was surprised to learn is, he was the voice of Paul McCartney, in the Yellow Submarine film.
There sure have been a lot of losses, recently.

Funny thing, my local PBS station shows Keeping Up Appearances, Are You Being Served, As Time Goes By, and The Vicar of Dibley every Sunday night. It's so many years later and so many of those actors are gone, but in my mind, they are still alive and young and talented. I think that's a very nice way to be remembered.
