(25,303 posts)he was kind of a Centrist Dem and I'm wondering when we do take over the House - that if a critical mass of Centrist Dems take seats - will we see something equivalent to a reverse 'tea party' movement in Congress?

(11,804 posts)party will shift a bit further right, which isn't great, but I doubt they will go full Tea Party or anything like that. For one thing, they still face some systematic challenges that make it hard for them to have the same kind of purge that the republicans have had. For another an extremist center seems a bit difficult to pull off - i get that many more centrist democrats resent Bernie Sanders, but I don't see them even pushing him out.

(the latter so ridiculous a premise that it probably need not be said... still)
