We must defeat these people.
We must crush them at the polls.
We must issue a profound rebuke to this dark, twisted vision of America and the people that embrace it.

(3,985 posts)The now infamous Meuller witness George Nader was quoted in the DailyStar of Lebanon 2003
The Arab-American analyst added: Basically, America after Sept. 11 is one thing and America before Sept. 11 is history.
The new guiding principle of post-Sept. 11 policy is that American interests have absolute priority.
We witness an era of America first. For better or worse, right or wrong, we are looking after our own interests, our own economic welfare, before anything else, Nader said.
He believes that without Sept. 11, US President George W. Bush would not have considered embarking on radical foreign policy adventures like invading Afghanistan and Iraq.

Oh the "child pornography" charges against him in 1985 were dropped.
I am from Binghamton NY and never would have imagined that took place there. It was a great place to grow up.......this surprises me, although it shouldnt.

(2,301 posts)The whole white sheet KKK get-up is actually cosplay from the original 1915 "Birth of a Nation." The original KKK wore disguises and masks and such, some of which were ghost costumes, but it wasn't until the 20th century KKK revival that the white sheets became the standardized wear.
Thanks, D.W.

(14,501 posts)you're trying to destroy the very organization that employs you. That's one reason they could care less about wasting money on fancy doors and furniture.
Can you imagine applicants for jobs at a corporation saying when asked their aspirations for the future: "I just just want to demean and deconstruct your company as quickly as possible"?.
We should get a huge refund from these bastards.

Defund/demonize/eliminate or privatize. It's working as we speak. Time to fire them all and send their damned lobbyists with them.

Personally, I think the "company" is the large international cabal of greedy and immoral plutocrats around the globe, working loosely in concert to increase their power and wealth. For example, Putin, Murdoch, Mercer and Koch. Putin just seems better than most at using their favorite tools.

Now think about the same paid and hoping-to-get-paid people sitting and yelling for this carny. Oh, yeah - they'll get paid if they are part of the 0.01%. They're going to get "stiffed"/shafted otherwise.
Does Dump/Kushner think that putine will honor his commitments to settle up? They're stupider than they act and their stupidity will hurt millions of people. They don't give-a-shit.

(9,942 posts)i agree we should all vote and do everything we can to encourage others to do so
but we have a problem.
our election system is not secure.
I know enough about it to say it can be hacked.
We know enough about what the russians did last time to know there is a problem.
even if they just get into the voter rolls and don't touch the results, that can be enough.
we have to deal with the problems in our election system.
voting is not enough.
YOHABLO
(7,358 posts)paper ballots is only 50% of the problem.
in my state (Vermont) we have 100% paper ballots but our system is vulnerable because optical scanners count the ballots. the optical scanners are only marginally better than the touchscreen machines because the software on the scanners can be hacked easily and one machine can affect the entire state.

Second: See the two American flags perched atop the banner poles? Reminds me of a jacked-up pickup truck I saw over the weekend flying American flags atop both sides of its cab. Same configuration, and doubtless the same underlying sentiment.
