(5,044 posts)CNN's ratings traditionally fluctuate based on the intensity of the news. Fox and MSNBC have insulated themselves from that problem somewhat through its partisan prime-time hosts. Walton has resisted this approach, believing CNN's strength lies in b
eing a nonpartisan news source and the company's reputation would be damaged worldwide if the U.S. network changed.
Walton said he doesn't expect that to change after he leaves.
"We kind of know who we are and our corporate colleagues know who we are and there has always been great support internally that we're going to be a news organization," he said.
At CNN, "we want to be accurate above all else, we want to be timely first if possible we want to actually go to where the news is, not just subscribe to some agency's news feed and talk about it. We want to report the news from multiple sides, all sides, and without bias."

Journalism in America has become a farce and people like Wolfie Blitzer need to fire themselves for the sake of the country.

(62,325 posts)and homes and who for the most part, could care less about Israel or anywhere else in the world, and have made it clear they do not want money being spent on wars. If anything, considering the problems facing the average American, any hint of a war with Iran by Romney, is likely to lose him support.
They live in a bubble and think that three hundred million people who have families to worry about, are even the slightest bit interested, let alone informed, about Israel's problems. I hope he does talk about a war in Iran, that will surely go over great with a population that has been told the Government has no money.
They are in their own small world, and Romney has probably been told he must make Israel a priority or he will not get the support he needs. At least I hope that is what they are telling him, because I can't think of an issue that is less important to the American people right now, than Israel, or any other country for that matter.
