Josh Mandel, the republican running against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH). Him and his wife are positioned to gain profit if the U.S. government fails to raise the debt ceiling and defaults on its loans. Mandel has campaigned on refusing to raise the debt ceiling, which would profit himself.
Ilana Shafran Mandel, owns up to $1,000 of shares in ProShares Ultra-Short 20+ Year Treasury exchange-traded fund (ETF). These funds bet against U.S. debt. The ProShares commodities value spikes when the value of shares in the U.S. government plummet, as would happen if the country defaulted on its loans, if Mandel became one of Ohios two Senators he could vote so he could make money at our expense. Mrs. Mandel has other investments which bet against us.

(35,392 posts)1. This guy promised that, if he were elected to the office he now holds, he would concentrate
on that office, and that alone. Promised that he wasn't going to use it as a stepping stone for a higher office.
The paint was barely dry on his door when he filed to run for the Senate. (If it were Hillary Clinton, the "liberally-biased media" would have been all over it).
His LAME! LAME! LAME! excuse? "The people demanded that I run ..." ... No, they demanded that you do your job ...

(238 posts)2. I'm tired of him already
They keep sending info from him to my house. My son had worked at Mill's Pride. They sent political contributions to republicans in the names of thier employees. Believe me my son wouldn't give a republican a penny.
