Trump's past history with American steel. It ain't pretty.

For someone who crows about helping the American steel industry ........

Actions speak louder than empty words!

I wish some journalists would call Dumpy out on this!

This article is from 2016, but the facts are still very pertinent today.

Wasn't Trump Tower but without any steel? Trump was cozied up to the mob's concrete business and the Tower was built without a steel structure.

No steel, eh, Trump? Did you mention that to your supporters?

Concrete won't build that high without reinforcement. The lower floors would compress and collapse.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia entry:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_Tower

The relevant construction point:

Trump Tower was also the first skyscraper with a concrete frame, and so the contractors had to complete a floor before they started erecting the floor above it. Concrete was more expensive in New York City than anywhere else in the United States, which raised the construction costs. All of the floors above the 20th used a roughly similar design, and each of these floors could be completed within two days. However, the floors below the 20th floor were all different, so each took several weeks to erect. Trump Tower was topped out by July 1982, two-and-a-half years after the start of construction.

Trump's ties to organized crime caused him to use mob-controlled concrete instead of steel.

Good post! Sadly the people in Ohio don’t catch on to quick. Many lost their jobs here. Can’t believe Ohio is purple!

so I don't get it when I hear pundits say that Ohio is purple.

During the last election, I think I saw ONE Hillary yard sign in my township ... all the rest were for the Idiot.

Like you said, samplegirl ...... slow learners!

In my town which was home to lots of steel factory and union backing at one time. I guess they forgot the next generation and their children and grandkids. Ohio was once very Blue!☹️

But I'm sure the rubes just dismissed it as "fake news".

*sigh* When I think of what we could have had, if we'd elected her .... *sigh* .....

When asked if Trump's support had waned during the past week she said "No!" and explained that average people don't pay attention to the news and only political junkies (like us) know what's going on. I think that's probably very true. People need to get their noses out of their cell phones and join the real world before it's too late.
