(1,714 posts)they aren't going to sell ANY guns to anyone under 21. Good intentions, but IMHO, won't hold up in court. Age discrimination.

(3,290 posts)We criticize a lot and it is important that we give proper thanks to corporation that do good. Especially when they are the first to takeaction and kind of get the ball rolling.

This is a diversion story to cover for the Field & Stream retail brand and bump some sales at the Dicks stores.
Dicks stopped selling guns after Sandy Hook - but their Field & Stream brand continued to sell them.
Now they are all out - and that's good - but lets not give them too much credit.
Sorry thats a bit cynical.

Cruz might still have bought the gun - even if they didn't ARs
I guess raising age to 21 is the win here.
Im glad they are doing something - but its not all that much.

But I get it... narratives often demand we find fallacies to throw against the wall in hopes they stick.
