As noted earlier, Mitt Romney's trip to London has been a non-stop gaff-a-thon, including insulting his hosts by suggesting the city wouldn't be able to pull off its Olympics.
After some snarky retorts from Brits clearly bemused that a major American political party would nominate such a git, Romney was forced to do the most horrible thing Pres. Barack Obama has (supposedly) ever done: apologize. Oh well, yet another anti-Obama GOP talking point (like the TelePrompter nonsense) bites the dust.
But of course, this sort of thing is par for the course for Romney. Meeting with NASCAR fans at Daytona he decided to "interact" with them by insulting their ponchos. When some sweet ladies decided to lay out a spread of their fancy local bakery's wares, he insulted them by "joking" that they looked like they came from 7-11. When a classmate showed up with hair that wasn't the right height, he ... you get the picture.
It's pretty well established at this point that Mitt Romney is an asshole. He cannot interact with anyone without being an utter dick. Remember, his own high school friends, which the Romney campaign itself suggested the press talk to, sold him out.
The only problem is that he's now bringing his horror roadshow to international locales. And while the Brits can laugh him off with a dismissive snort (those guys know how to do humor), let's brace ourselves for when he gets to Israel. Insults in that part of the world start wars.

(2,307 posts)His whole life Romney has been in a position of privilege.
He grew up rich in an important Mormon family.
He went to a private high school where he was allowed to bully others.
He dodged the draft by being a missionary in a sweet assignment which only few Mormons would qualify for.
He attended private colleges. Where to survive he had to sell a few hundred shares of stock given to him by his father.
His business was started with someone else's money.
As a leader in the Mormon church he was looked at as nearly god like.
As a CEO he wasn't challenged.
As a rich many he has had servants who were fearful of losing their jobs.
He is simply his personality. He thinks he is better than all others. He doesn't understand being challenged. He doesn't understand why people aren't just doing what he says. That is what they are suppose to do, in his mind.
