Dow closes more than 200 points lower as Walmart posts worst day since October 2015

I know, I know, it's terrible about 'the money.'

But you know? Wall Street and Walmart? We are who we are!

Oh. Welcome back to Washington, Mr. Precedent! Enjoy your vacation?

The Dow Jones industrial average fell sharply on Tuesday, pressured by a steep decline in Walmart shares and a rise in interest rates.

The 30-stock index closed 258 points lower — snapping a six-day winning streak, with shares of Walmart shedding 10 percent. The retail giant's stock posted its biggest decline since October 2015.

The S&P 500 pulled back 0.6 percent, with consumer staples declining more than 2 percent. Walmart was the biggest decliner in the S&P 500. Kroger and Kraft Heinz, which are also in the staples sector, were among the worst-performing stocks in the index.

I've just never seen it spelled out like that.

corporation

The most common form of business organization, and one which is chartered by a state and given many legal rights as an entity separate from its owners. This form of business is characterized by the limited liability of its owners, the issuance of shares of easily transferable stock, and existence as a going concern. The process of becoming a corporation, call incorporation, gives the company separate legal standing from its owners and protects those owners from being personally liable in the event that the company is sued (a condition known as limited liability).

Incorporation also provides companies with a more flexible way to manage their ownership structure. In addition, there are different tax implications for corporations, although these can be both advantageous and disadvantageous. In these respects, corporations differ from sole proprietorships and limited partnerships.

than anything related to the sole purpose of a corporation.

Very often, corporate management has THEIR money tied to share value, and it most definitely appears that the sole purpose of corporate existence is "the shareholder."

transpired since Xmas. Sam's Club closings on the East Coast, and last month same for Central California, three Thousand Jobs at their Corporate Headquarters in Bentonville. Hmmm, are we close to that 12k number that was mentioned last fall if they did not get their Tax Break!

Fully understand the P&L's of Business, and Amazon is eating theri lunch as well as a couple of Speciality Retailers that offer home delivery . Albertson/Von's as well as Sprout's offers this in the Las Vegas Valley.

Wal Mart will survive, they have taken out their Competion in what are referred to as County Seat Towns. That gives them a steady traffic flow and steady cash flow.

I actually made decent money from Wal-mart after October 2015. It seemed like a good time to buy, and as it turned out - it was.

Not to be a low down money grubbing capitalist or something.

I confess I have a much different perspective.

And I haven't been in a Walmart for years - so it's not MY money you are putting in your pocket.

The deplorables gave the keys back to the morons who drove us into the ditch!

We warned them, didn't we?

The good thing is, we can start the correction NOW by taking back at least half of Congress!

Many of us 'get' that we are stronger together. Sadly some just want to tear it all down.
