The Obama campaign confirmed to TPM that Biden was referring to a story published in the Daily Telegraph Tuesday night. The story quoted an anonymous member of the Romney foreign policy team promising Romney would return the bust of Winston Churchill to the Oval Office and restore what the source called a more traditional status to the relationship between Britain and the United States.
We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he feels that the special relationship is special, the unnamed adviser told the paper. The White House didnt fully appreciate the shared history we have.

The Romney campaign did not respond to questions about whether it would seek a retraction of the story. The Telegraph, which stands by the piece, told TPM that the paper has not received a request from the Romney campaign to retract or correct the story.
The story comes as Romney kicks off an international trip with a two-day stop in England.

(116,464 posts)either the media or the Romney campaign is going to be held accountable.
The Telegraph stands by its story. So either the paper is telling the truth or the Romney campaign can demand a retraction.
While the reporters are at it, they can ask Romney about comments by another foreign policy adivser:

I don't believe Romney, or most of the republican cohorts would have any credibility outside of US... As you point out, we tend to learn how to think critical in school here in Europe (or at least most of europe)..

(8,053 posts)why is his identity being protected? Seems to me that since he's so proud of his ties to his anglo-saxon heritage, he would be just as proud to stand by his stupid statements.
