2. Sessions has no power to do anything in this case

The President as authority to declassify and release anything.

3. Sessions is in the Executive Branch

Nunes is in the Legislative Branch. 2 different branches.

Only way to maybe stop it is through the Judicial Branch.

4. This whole thing might easily backfire

Presumably it will be shots to bits once it is released. Shoddy partisan staff work that will not hold up to scrutiny.

6. He can't because the decision comes from a House committee

which is part of the legislative branch. And he probably wouldn't want to anyhow.

11. Ryan doesn't answer to the President either, although Trump seems to think so.

Civics 101: Congress is one of the separate, equal and independent branches of the government. It and its members do not "answer to" the president. He is not their boss. The constitutional system of checks and balances (if it is working as designed) means that the Congress (legislative branch) passes laws but the president (executive branch) can veto them, but Congress can override the veto. The judicial branch's power is to interpret laws passed by Congress and signed by the president, and the Supreme Court can invalidate laws by declaring them unconstitutional. The checks over the judicial branch are that the president can nominate Supreme Court and lower federal court judges but the senate has to confirm them. Congress can impeach and remove presidents and federal judges. Nobody in any of the three branches is the boss of anybody in any of the other branches. If Ryan wants to kiss Trump's ass he can do that but it's not required.
