A three-judge panel last week invalidated the map drawn by the Republican-controlled legislature in 2016, calling it improper partisan gerrymandering. The decision was the first striking down a congressional map on the grounds that it was rigged in favor of a political party. The court panel ordered lawmakers to redraw the boundaries by Jan. 29.'

It's possible; the 3-judge decision was pretty strong. The lower court would have to be asked to do so.

9. Yes. A lower federal court ordered NC to redraw their maps and the Supreme Court put a hold....

on that order. There's a major gerrymandering case already before the Supreme Court and a decision in that case
is expected around June.
