He could only install Pruitt without Senate approval on a recess appointment. PoliticAverse Jan 2018 #2

The appointment would be good until the end of the senate session (i.e. next January). PoliticAverse Jan 2018 #4

The Senate approves people for specific posts. If a person is changing jobs they must be approved PoliticAverse Jan 2018 #15

And that can only be done when the Senate declares itself to be on recess (it is usual these
days to avoid official recesses through the use of "pro forma" sessions).

Using the threat of a filibuster, Democrats plan to force the Senate to hold pro forma sessions — a practice both parties have carried out to block recess appointments from presidents of opposite party, Democratic and Republican aides say.

Senate approval is for a specific post it isn't a general approval. A President can't get someone approved for commerce secretary and then decide they really were approved to be the next Supreme Court justice for example.

If he's confirmed (after Sessions gets run over by a particularly heavy bus), he'll immediately dismantle the Mueller investigation. He's right at the core of Trumpy's criminality. There are few worse choices. And the GOP will succumb to Pruitt's lies and confirm him because the GOP is wholly owned by Trumpy. They're owned by Trumpy because ALL of the GOP leadership, and then some, have taken Russian money for laundering and profit. They're all in on the coup because it's the only chance they have of controlling their own fate. They must stop Mueller from the massive number of indictments coming their way.

But upon further research it is indicated that for tr-dump to move Pruitt from EPA to Atty. General, Pruitt would need to be re-confirmation by the Senate for the move to DOJ.

With Pruitt's history of being an outright Fascist at the EPA his move to DOJ and Senate confirmation for Atty. General could be quite contentious. Tr-dump would likely finagle a Senate recess appointment so he can circumvent and delay the confirmation process as long as possible to a later date down the road.

Pruitt will turn the DOJ upside down to protect Tr-dump each and every way he can to shut down the Muller investigation and make team tr-dump's illegalities entirely disappear.

Pruitt was a good German and tore up the EPA and made tr-dump proud.... Pruitt would be more than happy to make the move to Atty. General to trash the DOJ so Saint Donald's problems all magically just poof go away.

These Fascist have a plan and political agenda to see through and their intention is that nothing impedes them or gets in their way.

The KKK - Koch/Tr-dump Oligarchs rule America now - resistance is futile.
