not clear if a sitting president can be indicted.
if so, not clear if a sitting president can stand trial.
if so, not clear if a sitting president can serve time.

An attempt to indict Trump for perjury in a Federal court will almost certainly end up before a Federal judge and depending on how it plays out would go to SCOTUS.

At the state level I see no reason why Trump could not be indicted, however this to would end up before SCOTUS as well.

As it stands now, NO president can be removed from office EXCEPT through impeachment & conviction in Congress or via the 25th Amendment.

So far, Trump has not been asked to testify under oath anyplace.

If he were to be convicted of a crime, he could theoretically run the country from a jail cell, but he would be impeached by then. But you never know with today's Republicans. Congress might have hold sessions in jail too.
