iPad Activation Lock (forgot my Apple password) PLEASE God NO!!! Please help.

I've committed the ultimate 21st century sin. I forgot my Apple password. I reset it months ago but didn't write it down - very manic confusing process.

Any ideas?
Do I have to go to the Apple Store?

Please help. Without my iPad I'm stuck using my phone*

* which has more technology than we used to send a man to the moon.

This was for my iPad. Luckily I time traveled back 5 years in my ever fading mind and entered the name of my now-deceased pet plus my favorite 2 digit number.

Now have a hard copy of those pesky things. Keychain not helpful for that due to so long ago and for my iPad and not the computer.

Keep the list in my google email which I can access from android phone, computer, pad, or even someone else's device.

Good vibes to you.

Forget that advice.

Putting your passwords on Post-It notes stuck to your monitor (at home) is now one of the more secure ways to store your passwords. Can't be hacked!

I'm only 1/2 kidding. Don't do that at work, though.

Your sainted mother. Well, phooey on that. I finally resorted to a small, old paper (never used) address book where I can jot pertinent information on various accounts, websites, etc User ID and a unique pass word that only I know. I think in the long run it is probably safer than anything stored on my laptop or iPad.

Who in their right mind EVER thought we could have unique user names and passwords for every sign in and be expected to remember them all?? What genius thought that was a good plan?? It worked for an incredibly short time and then got really cumbersome. Therefore they are written down. So sue me. 🤪😜😂😂😂
