the #1 issue in 2018 and 2020: what kind of government should we have?

of course the media will dwell on individual issues, some serious and some frivolous, as usual.

but the real issue at stake is, what kind of government should we have?

whatever their rhetoric, a vote for republicans is a vote for an government run in the style of a criminal enterprise.
money flows to the top, loyalty flow upward only (and to the top people, not to principles), and rule is by power rather than by laws.
the beneficiaries are the people in the criminal enterprise, and everyone else is just a mark. that includes most republican voters.

a vote for democrats is a vote for government by laws, policy by analysis of what's best for the entire country, and loyalty is to the country and its principles.

there will be talk about deficits and taxes and patriotism and flag-burning or some such nonsense and whatever. that's fine, too. or at least typical.

but most important -- do you want the government to be a vibrant democracy, or a spiraling, corrupt, criminal enterprise.

are our institutions strong enough to withstand the assault of foxnews, hate radio, donnie, and putin?
prosecutors like mueller and schneiderman have some role in that, but it's not nearly enough. at best they can get rid of a few bad actors, who would only be replaced by other bad actors.

we must vote, we must convince, we must win. massively.

we must make reclaim and rebuild our government!

And THAT is the question that we will see the answer to in 2018 and 2020. Can enthusiasm beat money.
