sad.... Sorry, folks Heather Menies-Urich did die, but the two early articles mixed her up with the actress that played Liesl (Charmian Carr, who died in 2016) and I didn't catch it at first.

Actress Heather Menzies-Urich, best known for portraying Louisa von Trapp in the 1965 film “The Sound of Music,” died Sunday night. She was 68.

Menzies-Urich, the widow of actor Robert Urich, had been recently diagnosed with cancer, according to her son Ryan Urich.

Urich said his mother died on Christmas Eve, surrounded by her children and family members.

“She was an actress, a ballerina and loved living her life to the fullest,” Urich said. “She was not in any pain but, nearly four weeks after her diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, she had enough and took her last breath on this earth at 7:22 pm.”

She was 15 when she played the eldest von Trapp daughter (fifth from left above) in the film, which won five Oscars, including Best Picture.

The pictures are of Charmian Carr, who did play oldest daughter Liesl, and who died in 2016. Heather Menzies-Urich played second-oldest daughter Louisa. According to imdb she is still alive.

6. Hate to be nit picking, but the actress on the left is Charmian Carr

who played eldest daughter Liesl. She died last year. Louisa was the 2nd daughter, 3rd child (of the fictional version of the family).
