Everyone is asleep but me. I just watched another version of The Nutcracker and I'm ready to call it a day. Presents are under the tree and stacked under overfilled stockings at the fireplace. Daughter's in-laws are visiting from out of town. They thoughtfully are staying in a near-by hotel but left their dog with us, much to the consternation of our three cats and dog. Cats have been hiding all day which kept them from food and litter. Had to lock extra dog in family room so cats could go about their nightly business. One loves to eat ribbon so sheets are spread over the piles of presents to keep her out. We even have a stocking for my great grandson who will be born next month.
Tomorrow will be a huge breakfast before we open gifts. Son-in-law is cooking a prime rib on the grill for dinner. He does a great job with everything he grills.
I'm avoiding the news for a few days in order to be able to enjoy the food, gifts and company.
I refuse to be bullied into saying Merry Christmas, so to all you wonderful DU'ers, I'll say Happy Holidays!!!
