my dtr and her new hubby just came back from the new Stars Wars movie....

4. This was a disappointment.

I grew up on 4, 5, and 6. Rogue one was fantastic. In line with 4, 5, 6.

The force awakens was promising. Last Jedi was a step back. Everything else has been terrible.

5. Good movie, but very complex story line and characters

This isn't your grandfather's (or in my case my generation's) Star Wars.

Very powerful female characters; some people have a hard time with that.

Kyle Ren is a complex villain, and aging Luke Skywalker is not the pure, righteous Jedi he once was.

I can say no more without spoilers.

Still way better than any of the prequels.

6. Just saw it a few hours ago

I'm lumping that one in with the prequels. I thought it was awful. There is an large amount of suspension of logic and belief with many space scenes but that one with Leia was just stupid. I felt the movie was very 'Disney-ified', not necessarily bad but not Star Wars in my mind.
