There is no way he will allow America to have a peaceful holiday...

He will have to do something before Christmas to get the attention upon himself. He will say or do something controversial. That's just the way he is.

I would be very surprised if he does not.

You do the tree lighting, do some nice photo-ops (in casual clothes), visit the troops or Walter Reed without much fanfare, thanks the staff and then go quiet and let everyone take a break.
