(8,656 posts)I think it may well be someone not on that list, Joe Kennedy or another young buck.

(10,178 posts)to win the nomination. I don't think his slim record of accomplishment or his life of privilege has prepared him for the fights ahead.

(10,178 posts)I don't really love Gillibrand, but she seems to be ruthless enough to go after Trump. No known skeletons so far. Then I'd go with Harris and Booker. I also expect to see some Democratic governors emerge as well.

(115,899 posts)Bernie and Biden are probably too old (not too old for the job, but too old for many voters). I like Murphy and Brown, and of course Warren. Maybe Adam Schiff should be on that list. And maybe Al Franken could make a comeback.

(6,262 posts)None on that list is a winner for me. Most too old and Gillibrand infuriates me.

(1,148 posts)...a list that includes Oprah Winfrey. I respect her, but she would never seriously run, and I think we need to run a real public servant to show that we're DIFFERENT from the Republicans.

(15,805 posts)Cross off those good people with no governing experience whatsoever. C'mon, hasn't Trump taught us anything!
Politicians may have the best intentions, but their advanced age is an obstacle that can't be ignored in a tight race where everything will be in play.
Still, there are some good potentials in this mix, and others that should be added.

(90,865 posts)...blathering about presidential candidates too early is not going to do us much good.
Aside from that, some of my favorite people on the list are just too damn old to run for president again.
