Usually when you catch a dog in the act of misbehaving, you can yell at the dog, and the dog will skulk away, convicted by its own conscience. Millie the dog, though, had a wholly different character. My friend had a big Kentucky Derby party one year, and the house was loaded with guests. The snacks and refreshments were sequestered away from the dogs in a sun porch. Somehow, Millie got into the sun porch and helped herself to a plate of hummus or something. She was caught almost immediately, my friend yelling at her and running to intercept Millie. Instead of skulking away, Millie started eating faster, knowing that her time was short. I'd never seen anything like it.

The Republicans are a bunch of Millies. We've caught them, they don't care, and they will gobble down everything they can as fast as they can until we remove them.

Today, the Repub senators won with 51 votes. Somehow, in a few years, it will require 60 votes to fix it.

We lost, and we lost big.

I'm going to have a drink.

will still vote for them. They have 2 excuses that they will use for when this policy is a failure. One will be "Well it's the Dems fault for why the tax plan didn't work. They sabotaged it." The other excuse will be "Trump lied to us. This was his idea and we trusted him that it would work." Their base is so stupid that they will believe 1 of the 2 excuses or both that I have listed above.

They don't have to care. Much of America has an attention span of a flea. They will move on to whatever fresh hell the Kardashians have going on and believe Dotard and his Lieutenant Liar, SHS, that whatever pain they will experience with the tax scam is Obama's fault.
