tRump on the tax bill: "Obamacare has been repealed"

The GOP's tax plan includes a repeal of the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act (the provision that requires Americans to have health insurance or face a fine).

Just now, President Trump touted the tax plan as an Obamacare repeal.

"When the individual mandate is being repealed, that means Obamacare is being repealed because they get their money from the individual mandate," Trump said. "So in this bill, not only do we have massive tax cuts and tax reform, we have essentially repealed Obamacare."

He added: "Obamacare has been repealed in this bill."

Careful what you brag about. You broke it, you bought it.

The truth is that the ACA has always had stronger support than the polls showed. All that time that the approval was hovering in the 40s, the polling rarely bothered to ask what they didn't like about it. Whenever asked, about 15% said it wasn't strong enough.

So about 55% always wanted ACA or better. When threatened with going backwards, those people became positive votes.
