Winter Solstice is on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 8:27 am in Seattle. In terms of daylight, this day is 7 hours, 34 minutes shorter than on June Solstice.

(42,001 posts)9. And we actually have sun in Seattle today!
I have lived here a long time and still get nuts during these incredibly short, dark days.
But this year it feels like a metaphor, and the fact that theyre about to get longer will, I hope, feel like a metaphor too. To better, warmer, lighter days!
