(52,399 posts)donnie did very little leadership or arm-twisting on this piece of legislation, pence or any other republican would have been at least as effective in terms of getting a tax cut for the rich passed, or at a minimum, signed.
they needed donnie to defeat hillary, so that certainly explains a big chunk of his support during the campaign and for the election itself, but he could have died or resigned 3 minutes after being sworn in and the tax bill would have passed just as easily, if not more so.
