Why do they keep calling the tax bill a win for drumpf?

Drumpf ran in a tax plan that would be horrible for him and the rich like him. He ran on a plan that would be for the forgotten men and women in America. Basically he ran on a plan that was more progressive than conservative.

So why are they now calling this a win for him? He did not get what he promised or ran on. How is this a win?

And he can gloat to those less fortunate that voted for him that he came through with giving them a few extra bucks in their paychecks. The voters will end up getting screwed, but he and his family gets richer. He wins so he will be happy. It is all about winning and having others lose.

The morons in the red ball caps are cheering their own demise as a benefit because Trump makes liberals aghast with horror at the lies, duplicitous nature and downright scary temperament.

They look at this as a zero-sum game and in their eyes as long as "libruls" are 'losing', that's good enough. There is no dealing with these people, we must get enough people motivated and to the polls to simply shove them back into the recesses of modern life where they reside and then fix what is being broken now. The sad thing is that we will spend the entirety of the NEXT Democratic administration once again cleaning up the wreckage of another failed GOP experiment in fantasy economics where deficits don't matter (until they do), tax cuts pay for themselves (until they don't) and someone MUST PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN (until they're cast onto the next round of Billionaire Benefits).

The whole thing makes me sick...

These are the same idiots that have been voting against their own self-interest in the name of "abortion" and "states rights" since Reagan. They'll talk a good game now and even say how mad they are, but when push comes to shove, it will be Alabama all over again...without MASSIVE turnover from minority women, these idiotic nearly ALL white voters will dutifully show up and make their mark for the magic "R", just like their radio, TV, preacher and boss tell them to do.

Just do a quick internet search of "Stupid things GOP supporters believe" and prepare to be sick to your stomach. These are massively ignorant and malleable people who are so easily controlled as to be automatons for the GOP agenda...it's been working pretty consistently since 1980. Lie to them to their faces, get their votes to obtain power, use that power to make everyone outside of the very top have a worse existence...lather, rinse, repeat.

The simple fact that abortion is still such a driving issue for these fools is infuriating. The GOP no more care about human life than the HIV virus cares about it...as a means to an end, period.

are not as consistent in their turnout - they came out for Reagan in 1980, Bush in 2000 (all those rural counties in the panhandle swung the state from being called for Gore to being uncalled and into recount territory) and then Trump in 2016.

they did not turn out as much in 1984 and 2004 because Reagan and then Bush didn't need to recruit them as vigorously as they had previously. Trump will continue to try to recruit them in 2018, but that will serve to drive up Democratic turnout like it did in Alabama, Virginia and NJ.

if corporations who left this country do truly come back, he will call it a win win.

I think we are all going to see more in our paycheck, but when we do our taxes we will lose money, but no one will realize that until 2019 after the elections

I'm screwed so should I get more money I have to put it away for my owed taxes of 2019

he'll blast it all over Twitter and the media will run with it for at least 24 hours. Never mind the other 99 corporations that send their jobs overseass or when the 1,000 returning jobs turns into only 100 jobs in reality, you'll heard nothing.

The media seems intent on creating a horse race, even when one of the horses is obviously on drugs. Expecting them to report the truth, is so 1900's apparently.

I think today is finally the day I turn off the TV, and get my news from DU, if at all.

that he didn't really *do* anything to get this other than literally agree to sign whatever the Republican Congress gives him. It was drafted behind closed doors with no input from Democrats or experts in economic policy and it was rammed through both chambers via the reconciliation process. Trump has working digits well enough to sign it when it comes to him. That's about it.

one can obviously argue the merits, and many think it's a terrible piece of legislation.

nevertheless, it's an "accomplishment" of sorts. we can no longer say he couldn't get anything meaningful passed. now we have to argue that what got passed was horrible.

if you're a fan of lichtman's key's, he arguably turned on of them in his favor, significant legislation getting passed, which puts him one step closer to getting (ugh!) re-elected.

It's a political win in the short term because he finally gets to brag about some major legislation. The fact that during the campaign he promised to be the champion of the masses doesn't matter.
