He oughta be replaced. And Ive said that before and Ive said it to people who can do it, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, told reporters the day before McCabe went before the House panel.
Grassley has questioned whether McCabe has a conflict of interest and is biased against President Donald Trump. McCabes wife in 2015 ran for a state Senate seat in Virginia, backed in part with money from associates of Hillary Clinton, Trumps opponent in last years presidential election.
Such concerns with McCabe have increased among Republicans with the recent release of text messages that many Republicans claimed showed anti-Trump bias by agent Peter Strzok, who was removed from Special Counsel Robert Muellers team investigating whether Trumps campaign colluded with Russians to help get him elected.
The president has complained on Twitter that his Attorney General Jeff Sessions should have fired McCabe a long time ago.

(45,027 posts)So Grassley wants an FBI Director who'll be loyal to a criminal suspect (over the Constitution).
Oh just fuck right off, Chuck.

I can see Grassley telling him, "We've all done it. You should just do it and get it over with."

(13,527 posts)Several hours into an interview with FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on Tuesday threw cold water on his own speculation that McCabes days at the bureau might be short-lived.
In an interview last week, Gowdy told Fox News he would be a little bit surprised if [McCabes] still an employee of the FBI this time next week setting off a firestorm of speculation that his firing might be imminent.
As late as Tuesday morning, Gowdy told reporters that "it's not 2 o'clock yet" and "I hope he's there at 2" when asked if he believed McCabe should remain at the FBI. His remark appeared to suggest that McCabe could be on his way out before his scheduled interview.
But Gowdy told The Hill his remarks were based on nothing more than McCabes request to reschedule an interview that had been set for last week. In the past, he said, such circumstances have resulted in barriers to witness testimony.
Why do I pay attention to these cretins when they speak?! WHY??
