It was ignored, 9/11 happened, the entire Middle East was destabilized with our overthrow of Iraq, and it wasn't until the Obama Administration where actually progress had finally begun again, but the stupidity of the American public elected trump, which like bush did with the Clinton progress in the Middle East, undid the progress made by Obama when trump took office, and made it even worse.
