1. It's risky for both candidates...

I dont see much upside for either one, but a bad performance or, worse, not showing up would be a blow.

As a voter, even with my mind unchangeably made up, I want to see them go toe-to-toe. Considering the enormity of the job, a simple debate on the issues hould be an easy putt.

I’m confident that Biden will do well and win easily. Anuway, they owe it to the voters.

And I certainly also know who's getting my vote (again), not sure I can stand to Watch. I watched TFG debate both Hillary and Biden before and he was so offensive, creeped around behind Hillary and talked over Biden, why put myself through it? But it might be worth it to the voters to see Biden put know-nothing TFG in his place.

and so maybe lack of viewership is a goal. I just find it very curious it is so early. Whoever thought it up has a reason. Maybe they think the NYC trial will still be going on and Trump wont have time to prep?

I would be totally ok with the debate not being televised. I’ve advocated in other posts for a podcasted debate and getting away from the canned, constrained and scripted television debate.

However, it goes, I hope Biden’s team goes very hard after Trump if he fails to show up to debate. It should be disqualifying and treated as such.

7. From what I heard on the news, I think it was the president who issued the challenge

And you're likely right since President Biden made a point of saying that TFG would "be free on Wednesdays." And it was also said the TFG may very well change his mind.

3. As long as Trump is cut off the moment

he goes over time, I think it will become obvious that he cannot think on his feet and has nothing to offer but bombast.

While Joe responds with succinct, intelligent answers that actually leave the listener feeling smarter.

The difference couldn’t be more striking.

If Trump can’t bully, he can’t win. Let’s see it.

I just can't imagine that anyone could possibly be undecided at this point - the most experienced president in history vs. a guy who faces 88 criminal charges and tried to overthrow the government, but that's me.
