Lawrence O'Donnell: Trump's indictments will make debates with Biden 'theater of the absurd' - The Last Word - MSNBC

Now that President Biden and Donald Trump have accepted invitations to two televised debates, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell explains why the audience at home might not hear President Biden comment on any of Donald Trump’s criminal cases.

Lawrence explains that President Biden is a “more careful lawyer than Richard Nixon” who nearly caused a mistrial when then-President Nixon publicly declared Charles Manson guilty of murder during the Manson trial in 1970. - Aired on 05/15/2024.

and I don't really remember the actual debate much. but I do remember seeing a parody of it in a local newspaper after the fact, It looked something like this:

Moderator: Vice President Nixon, what is two plus two?

Nixon: (about ten or twelve lines of newprint which had little to do with the question)

Moderator: Senator Kennedy, what is two plus two?

Kennedy: Foah.

And I can state that that parody did a better job of capturing the essence of the "debate" than anything else published at the time.

It is laughable to think of any sort of "normal" conversation, let alone a debate with this damaged individual.

Everything Trump says in a debate is suspect.

His ultimate goal is to stay out of federal prison and he will say anything to stay out of federal prison.
